    怎样看待父母无恩论?

How do You Respond to the Ungrateful Attitude of Parents?

Obedience and filial piety are essential in Chinese culture, especially in Confucianism, where one should take filial responsibility for his parents because his body comes from his parents. However, Taoists argue that parents initially give birth to children without prior permission instead of vice versa. The one who advocates should be accountable under the rule of law. As a son or daughter, as Confucianists put it, he or she will deserve not to be a human without the intention to return the grace of parental reading. On the contrary, Taoists point out that childbirth is only designed to meet parents’ selfish desires rather than satisfy children’s psychological needs, exposing the fact that parents are indebted to their children. All along, children have been passive receivers and in no position to do anything under total parental control. Filiality initiated the entire Confucian theory and then generated the evil theory of gratitude for parents, teachers and kings, where a man cannot be independent in thought. The love between children and parents is a spontaneous feeling instead of an obligation. What do you think of the above two different viewpoints?
